How to Watch the Bundesliga in Australia (2026/27 Season)
Updated 9 October 2026
Every Bundesliga match of the 2026/27 season is live in Australia on beIN SPORTS. It costs A$16.99 a month or A$169.99 a year, with a 7-day free trial. Subscribe through beIN SPORTS CONNECT, or add beIN to Amazon Prime Video or Fetch. The Bundesliga is not on Kayo, Foxtel, Stan Sport or Optus Sport.
The 2026/27 Bundesliga season started on 28 August 2026 and ends on 22 May 2027. In Australia, every match is on beIN SPORTS. This guide covers prices, what’s actually on Kayo, Stan and Foxtel, kick-off times for every Australian city, and the dates worth putting in your calendar.
Where to watch: the short answer
| Competition | Where to watch in Australia |
|---|---|
| Bundesliga (all 306 matches + 2 play-offs) | beIN SPORTS |
| 2. Bundesliga (every match) | beIN SPORTS |
| Relegation play-offs | beIN SPORTS |
| DFB-Pokal (German Cup) | Stan Sport in 2025/26; 2026/27 not yet announced |
| Highlights and replays | beIN SPORTS (in the app) |
beIN SPORTS is the only place to watch every Bundesliga match live and on demand in Australia and New Zealand. You can get it three ways: directly through beIN SPORTS CONNECT, as a channel inside Amazon Prime Video, or as an add-on on Fetch.
beIN SPORTS: prices and plans
| How you subscribe | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| beIN SPORTS CONNECT, monthly | A$16.99 a month | Cancel any time |
| beIN SPORTS CONNECT, annual | A$169.99 a year | Works out at about A$14.17 a month |
| Amazon Prime Video channel | Billed through Prime | Needs a Prime membership. Check the current channel price in the Prime Video app |
| Fetch | Add-on to a Fetch plan | Linear beIN channels on the Fetch box |
beIN raised its prices from 1 September 2026: the monthly plan went from A$15.99 to A$16.99 and the annual plan from A$159.99 to A$169.99. Existing subscribers pay the new price from their first renewal after that date.
The annual plan costs the same as ten monthly payments. The Bundesliga season runs for ten months, from late August to late May, so if you only watch German football, a monthly plan you cancel in June costs about the same. The annual plan pays off if you also watch beIN’s LaLiga, Serie A, EFL or tennis over the Australian winter.
What the subscription includes
- All 306 Bundesliga matches of the 2026/27 season, plus both relegation play-off legs
- Every 2. Bundesliga match
- Full match replays, so overnight kick-offs can be watched at breakfast
- Highlights packages, news and analysis
- Other beIN football: LaLiga, Serie A, the EFL and Carabao Cup
Devices
beIN SPORTS CONNECT runs on the web, on iPhone, iPad and Android, and on smart TVs. The apps are on the Apple App Store and Google Play. On Prime Video and Fetch, beIN plays inside those apps and boxes, so it works anywhere Prime Video or Fetch does.
Is there a free trial?
Yes: 7 days free for new beIN SPORTS CONNECT subscribers. After that a subscription is required. The best use of the trial is a big weekend, such as Der Klassiker on 30 October to 1 November 2026.
There is no legal way to watch the full Bundesliga season for free in Australia. Sites offering free live streams are unlicensed.
What about Kayo, Foxtel, Stan Sport and Optus Sport?
None of them shows the Bundesliga at home.
- Kayo and Foxtel: beIN SPORTS left both platforms on 1 July 2023 and has not come back for home subscribers.
- Stan Sport: has the Champions League, Premier League and, in 2025/26, the DFB-Pokal, but not the Bundesliga.
- Optus Sport: held the DFB-Pokal from 2022/23 to 2024/25, but not the Bundesliga.
If you already pay for Kayo or Stan, you still need beIN for the Bundesliga.
Watching at the pub
Since March 2026, Foxtel Business has supplied the three beIN SPORTS channels to licensed venues across Australia. Pubs and clubs that show European football can show Bundesliga matches. For overnight kick-offs, check the venue’s opening hours first.
Do you need a VPN?
No. beIN holds the Australian rights, so a local subscription shows every match.

The 18 clubs in the 2026/27 Bundesliga
FC Augsburg, 1. FC Union Berlin, Werder Bremen, Borussia Dortmund, SV Elversberg, Eintracht Frankfurt, SC Freiburg, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Hamburger SV, TSG Hoffenheim, 1. FC Köln, RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen, Mainz 05, Bayern Munich, SC Paderborn, Schalke 04 and VfB Stuttgart.
Bayern Munich are the defending champions, going for a third title in a row. Schalke 04, SV Elversberg and SC Paderborn came up from the 2. Bundesliga. Elversberg are playing their first ever Bundesliga season. VfL Wolfsburg, 1. FC Heidenheim and FC St. Pauli went down.
The games worth getting up for
Der Klassiker: Bayern Munich v Borussia Dortmund
Germany’s biggest league game, and the one most likely to decide the title. This season it comes early: Bayern host Dortmund on Matchday 8 (30 October to 1 November 2026), and the return game in Dortmund is on Matchday 25 (5 to 7 March 2027). Both clubs already met in the Supercup in August, which Bayern won 2–1 in Dortmund. If Der Klassiker gets the Saturday 6:30pm slot, it kicks off at 4:30am on Sunday in Sydney and Melbourne.
The Revierderby is back: Schalke 04 v Borussia Dortmund
With Schalke promoted, Germany’s most intense derby returns to the top flight for the first time since 2022/23. Gelsenkirchen and Dortmund are about 30 km apart, both in the old coal-mining Ruhr. Schalke host the first game on Matchday 12 in early December.
Nordderby: Werder Bremen v Hamburger SV
Northern Germany’s derby, between the two big port cities. Hamburg spent seven seasons in the 2. Bundesliga before winning promotion in 2025, so this fixture is back as a regular. Bremen host on Matchday 10 in November.
Rheinderby: 1. FC Köln v Borussia Mönchengladbach
The Rhineland derby. It’s also the game to watch for Australians this season, because Paul Okon-Engstler plays for Köln (see below).
Others
- Bayern Munich v RB Leipzig (Matchday 6): usually a top-four game.
- Hamburger SV v FC St. Pauli, Hamburg’s city derby, is off the calendar again this season because St. Pauli went down.
Australians to follow in Germany
- Paul Okon-Engstler, 1. FC Köln (Bundesliga). The Socceroos midfielder joined Köln from Sydney FC in July 2026 on a contract to 2030, straight after playing at the World Cup. He is the 24th Australian to play in the Bundesliga.
- Connor Metcalfe and Sam Klein, FC St. Pauli (2. Bundesliga). St. Pauli were relegated in 2025/26. Every 2. Bundesliga match is on beIN too.
The full history, from David Mitchell at Eintracht Frankfurt in the 1980s to Okon-Engstler, is in Every Australian who has played in the Bundesliga.
The DFB-Pokal and other German competitions
The DFB-Pokal is Germany’s knockout cup, open to clubs from every level. In 2025/26 it was on Stan Sport in Australia, from the round of 16 to the final, where Bayern Munich played VfB Stuttgart. Stan’s deal was announced for 2025/26. As of 9 October 2026, no Australian broadcaster has been confirmed for the 2026/27 competition. The second round is on 27–28 October 2026 and the final on 29 May 2027 in Berlin. Optus Sport held the Australian cup rights from 2022/23 to 2024/25.
The Supercup, the one-off match between the champions and the cup winners, was played on 22 August 2026. Bayern won 2–1 in Dortmund.
The 2. Bundesliga is on beIN SPORTS in full. This season it includes the three relegated clubs: VfL Wolfsburg, 1. FC Heidenheim and FC St. Pauli.
